The year 2012 is really going quickly
as Memorial Day is this Monday, May 28th 2012.
Memorial Day, a day that was conceived to remember those who had lost
their lives in the United States of America, battling in wars. Those
who fought for their lives, and paid the ultimate price. Say what you
will about wars and the people in charge of the country, but these
brave men and women deserve a moment of thought on this day.
In a
way, Memorial Day kicks off the summer time season, much like Labor
Day in September ends it. For the children, they may have gotten out
of school by now(providing they had no snow days that would prevent
them from going later). Most people would have the first barbeque of
the year, kicking back and relaxing, before the insanity of the
summer arrives.
Of
course others might argue that the summer is already here, with the
blistering temps in many state, with people struggling to keep cool
already. And its only May. We might be in for another hot summer in
2012.
Regardless
on Memorial Day, there is no school(if it is still running), no work
for some(but not all), no postal service, no banks, and no stock
market. Of course as we all know, a four day week is not the easiest
in the world either, it can be extremely hectic.
Regardless,
everyone just kick back, put your feet up, and have a happy Memorial
Day and Memorial Day Weekend.
