Patch Tuesday April 2012 Details

The fourth such Patch Tuesday update, has six bulletins that will address various vulnerabilities that were found in Microsoft Windows. While the number does seem to be a light one compared to some months, the fact that four of the updates are critical, the highest priority offered by Microsoft makes this Patch Tuesday one that will want to be done right away, to be prepared for Exploit Wednesday, where hackers try and deal with those late on the draw for Microsoft updating.

The other two bulletins are going to be released are important, which is not as high of the priority as critical for Microsoft Patch Tuesday, but it is still essential that they are going to be downloaded.

To manually install the updates, head to the start menu, hit the control panel, System Security, check for updates under Windows Updates, and check for updates again. This will download the updates or if you want to enable automatic updates, to download to your computer at a designated time, that can be done as well.

If there is a need for a restart, your computer will prompt you to do so. While it may seem like a bother for constant updates, it is important to maintain the safety and the health of your computer. And to be prepared when those willing to spread malicious content come out to play on Patch Tuesday. You can begin applying these updates starting at 1:00 PM on Tuesday April 10th 2012.
