Woman Wins Lottery and Still Wants Public Aid

Here is a story that caused a great deal of irritation on the fault of this writer, especially when I think of all of the people who are suffering, who likely need public aid, but because of people are are sponging off of the government(as opposed to the other way around), welfare is easier to get. Hence a woman by the name of Amanda Clayton who decided that it would be just okay to keep getting public welfare after winning the lottery and thus one million dollars.

Woman Wins Lottery and Still Wants Public Aid

There are a lot of people who are suffering in the world, because of the economy, because of lack of education, and because of other factors. And the minimal money from public aid does not really go that far in this day and age. However, one might argue that the reason that welfare is not at an optimal level, is because of people who are still getting it, still trying to defraud the government, when they do not need it.

In other words, people who win a million dollars in the lottery. A million dollars is a decent amount of money, many many months of public welfare. Even after Uncle Sam takes his share of the profits, you are still left with a better chunk of change, especially since those who have been on welfare should have made stretching money an art.

So what does this woman do when she wins the lottery? Does she save the lottery winnings and frugally use it until she gets back on her feet? No, because that would be logical. She buys a brand new house and still is public aid. It is all well and good when people need public aid for a short time when they get back on their feet, but to keep receiving it, after squandering your lottery winnings, that is just disgusting. And that's why you have to jump through so many hoops to get anything, because of people like this.

Lawmakers want to put an end to this practice, where lottery winners get public aid. I say good. If people can't smartly use their lottery winnings and just blow them, then that is their own fault and welfare is not something. It is a system that is long since needed overhaul and people game the Welfare system, getting public aid for years.
