After the Bell 9/13/11

Time for after the bell, where we discuss what is going on in the world at large, after the final school bell has rung. This is after the bell, news and general musings for September 13th 2011. Featuring Patch Tuesday, Tupac, the Economy, Windows 8, and even more. This is after the bell for September 13th 2011.
For all of you Microsoft Users, today is the September 2011 Patch Tuesday. Seems to bit of a slim month this week, but naturally of no less importance for sure. So it is rather important to get those Windows Updates downloaded, to get the best security for your computer.

Today Tupac Shakur has been dead for fifteen years. Of course there are many people who still think that Tupac lives and really, that’s just the nature with celebrities. They are alive when they are dead and dead when they are alive. So fifteen years today since the death of Tupac? Where has the time gone.

Some horrific news as long term unemployment is really affecting everyone around the world. Unemployment is reaching everyone, as those who are considered “poor” or “below the poverty line” have increased. Never seems like a day goes by without some bad economic news. 2.6 million more poor.

On a good point, the stock market is rising up a little bit. The Dow Jones and the NASDAQ are slightly up as we reach the closing bell for the stock market. Modestly high the gains are but modestly high is better than any kind of falls. A steady increase for the stock market is really the best that we can hope for.

The preview for Windows 8 seems to be not as distressful as I had feared but I’m still on the fence. It is one of the biggest overhauls for Windows since Windows 95 but on the other hand, there is just something about the Microsoft Curse that I cannot shake. Of course, there are some people who will be needed to dragged away from their Windows XP kicking and screaming, so there is that. Still we’ll have to wait and see, if this overhaul works for Windows 8 or it will be something that blows up in Microsoft’s face.

The weather is finally cooling down for many and great news. This summer was a hot one for many and there are many debates about global warming and all that. I just have a feeling that the winter is going to be bad, as a lot of snow is going to be dumped upon us.

There we go, short but sweet today. The usual economic strife in the world, political backbiting and everything. Everyone have a great day and I’ll see you on Wednesday day for after the bell.
