After the Bell 8/29/11

Time for a New Feature at the Blog of Insanity, called After the Bell. The students are on their way home from school around this time across the nation or have been home for a little bit. School bells have rang but there are many bells ringing in my head, just many random thoughts that are around, that I just really have to share. Some topics, wacky trends on Google, the never ending chain of watching one YouTube video after another, the Job Market in the USA, Hurricane Irene, the Homework Load for Students, and People Actually Driving Less Because of Gasoline Price Spikes.

 After the Bell 8/29/11

Dancing with the Stars is trending as the hottest topic on Google right now. I am at a loss but I’ve long given up on trying to figure out the fascination that people have had for a lot of these reality shows. Dancing with the Stars is one of those shows that allow many celebrities to get just a little more air time, get their faces on television, make fools of themselves. Actually I can really see why a lot of people would enjoy that. I mean, who wouldn’t like to see some outdated, over the hill celebrity look like a complete doofus?

Number Two is the US Open Tennis Tournament on Google. I’ll cool it with the Google trends after this one. Tennis is another curiosity although less of one than reality television was in fact. Its people hitting a ball back and forth, over and over again, no rest, all repetition, but there has to be some strategy involved. Then again, I suppose it doesn’t have to make sense to entertain someone.

You ever notice how you go on YouTube to watch a video, but you never can watch one video? You go on a never ending run and burn up an hour of your life, just watching YouTube videos over and over again.

The Job Market is still a bit touchy on the United States. I blame many things for this but you know, the lack of skills in certain areas does make a depressing amount of sense. Education can be hit and miss across the board for many feels. Teachers aren’t feeling appreciated, so the best one’s walk. Without the proper instructors being in place, the quality suffers in many ways. This becomes even more important throughout each passing year. The USA Job Market has suffered a lot, for many reasons.

Hurricane Irene hit over the weekend and let’s face it, while things could have been much better, given some of the hurricanes that have happened in the past, they can be much worse. The thoughts and prayers are out from the Blog of Insanity to all of those who have lost love ones. Twenty six as the death toll of Irene last I checked, they might have missed a few. Hurricane season is not over. Take those evacuations warnings seriously, people.

This twenty four hour, seven days a week model that reality has set up could really use an overhaul in many ways. Life seems to have so much more to do and even those with the best time management skills struggle. For students out there, trust me, you think your homework might be a bit much this early in the game, the teachers are getting back in the groove.

More people seem to be walking around here, than driving. Either that or riding their bicycles. Gasoline prices are rising slightly and I guess people can’t justify that. Either that, or they feel the need to cut a few pounds. Not to mention we’re about ready for our yearly gasoline price hike for Labor Day as more people are traveling.

Well those are my random thoughts for the day. I’ll be back in the afternoon tomorrow for some more.
