No Dressing as Characters in Disney Parks

The Disney World and Disneyland are among the happiest places on earth. Granted, Disney has had its share of critics and many of them well founded. One thing cannot really be denied is the simple truth that there are countless people of all ages who enjoy the magic and the wonder that Disneyland and Disney World and the various Disney related theme parks have to offer. The House of the Mouse is one that many families have enjoyed and had cherished memories.

Obviously the joy that Disney brings to us all, we might rather feel sorely tempted to dress up like our favorite characters. It is a temptation that will have to squashed as Disney put down the ban hammer on any non-park employees not wearing any costumes. There was controversy a few weeks ago where some girl in a homemade Tinkerbell costume was told she could not dressed up like her favorite character.

Naturally when this happened, this split the Internet completely in half. Some people thought it was a gross violation of human rights. Others thought that Disney was perfectly within their rights. Yet, really in the end, the rule was put down. What Not to Wear-No Adult Costumes in the Disney Park. The ban hammer has been struck down by the realm of the mouse.

Obviously you can sympathize to an extent with people who want to dress up like their favorite character. Yet, in another way, Disney really does have a point. That point being that it would confuse the park goers. And that would be the best case scenario. Given the fact that children go to the park, it would really not be a difficult concept for someone who would victimize children would dress up like Mickey Mouse and...that's really not publicity that Disney really needs.

Ninety nine percent of the people who would want to dress up are unlikely to do this. It is the one percent of the people who would ruin pretty much each and every bit of the Disney experience, to the most sour extent.

In the end, you can see where Disney is coming from. They need to protect their bottom line. Say what you want about the company, but they would not be where they would be without a little intelligence.

One scandal, it would cause their parks to lose business, stocks to go down, the entire Disney name to have a black smear against it all and all.

You want to dress up as your favorite character, that is all well and good, but that's what Halloween is for. Do it outside of the Disney parks. The happiest place on Earth might be a fun time but there are certain rules.
