Mavericks and Heat, Price of Gold, After Christmas Sales, More

Time to take a look at some of the things that are going on around the Internet today, what people are talking about, thanks to Yahoo.  We’re going to talk about After Christmas Sales, the Price of Gold, Travel Tips, and More.

Price of Gold: A lot of things about the economy seem to be a rather sketchy situation. One item which seems to really be thriving is the price of gold. Those who invested in gold a long time ago are really reaping the benefits. For the past ten years, gold has been thriving and forecasts for the year 2012 appear to be rather promising. Especially in the second half of 2012, as gold prices will rise, after a steady dip in the latter part of year, but still a favorable rise from year to year.

After Christmas Sales: Perhaps the second biggest shopping day of the year, next to Black Friday, would be the day after Christmas. On December 26th 2011, after opening back up after being off for part of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, various stores are preparing for the after Christmas rush. One of the most important things on sale is Christmas decorations but there are other items as well. The day after Christmas is the best time to go shopping for all of the deals and more downplayed than Black Friday, as mostly everyone is beaten down from Christmas.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo: A movie based on a novel that was written by Swedish Author, Stieg Larsson that has been released within the past week. Reviews seem to be mostly positive for the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo with critics, which does seem to be saying something. If nothing else, the Internet at large is talking about this adaptation. Movie adaptations from novels can really be shaky business, but the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo movie seems to be one that remains mostly true.

Rooney Mara: The actress in the after mentioned Girl in the Dragon Tattoo movie. Obviously someone with a lead role is going to get some mentions. She mentioned in an interview that she can really relate to the character in the movie the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. That is really something that you would want with an actress. So it seems like this movie is the talk of the Internet and the reviews are hitting all of those sweet spots

Travel Tips: This is one of the high parts of the year for a lot of travel. There are a lot of important things to plan when traveling. Most likely the best thing to really do when you travel is to really do your homework, researching everything. Make sure you have a plan of activities and give yourself plenty of time and most importantly plenty of money. Traveling is not something that should be done likely. It might be too early to deal with the holiday travel with any degree in planning, but for next year, it would be prudent to save ahead starting after the Christmas season. And be prepared for any kind of insane weather that you can imagine, and do research about any weather that you have.

Christmas Carols: Christmas carols are something that fills our hearts with a lot of joy. Even the President of the United States, Barack Obama and his family are enjoying the holiday season, with lots of fun and Christmas cheer. Then again, a lot of people enjoy a lot of fun with these Christmas carols, but obviously when you’re the President of the United States, you really do in fact get every stupid little thing about your life put on the Internet. Including the way you celebrate Christmas, but naturally I’m sure Obama won’t mind the publicity and exploiting his family.

Dallas Mavericks: In the NBA, the Dallas Mavericks appear to have had rather promising potential for the NBA Season. Yet the Miami Heat was the team that played the spoilers to the joy of the fans of the Dallas Mavericks. The Heat laid the smackdown on the Dallas Mavericks. The end result featuring the Miami Heat scoring the victory over the Dallas Mavericks in a 105-94 score. LeBron James scores 37 points to lead the Heat to Victory. It is revenge from the most recent NBA Playoffs.

NBA Regular Season: The National Basketball Association, the NBA, is back in business after a lockout. It was a tense last few months for fans but they seem to be back in business. Of course, one must wonder who was to blame, was it management or the players seeming a bit too entitled? No matter who is to blame, the NBA is back in business. Yet we must wonder what might in fact happen again and if the fans will be so forgiving if another NBA lockout would in fact happened. Still the NBA is back in the game, so to speak.

Steven Spielberg: One of the most legendary directors in movies. Spielberg has really been rolling right in the movie industry. There were some hits, some misses, but Spielberg was one of the driving factors, for the past 45 years in the movie industry. Spielberg, having turned 65 just the past week, is still going strong, with two new films this season. Spielberg’s latest offering is War Horse and Tintin and many feel optimistic about their potential success.

Mitt Romney: One of the top candidates for the Presidency in 2012, but we’ll see really what is going to occur during the next year. The 2012 election is going to be one to really watch but there are going to be many looking to take advantage of a serious situation to get some political power. It does appear more and more that the only losers of the election, are going to be the average American people.

That would be what’s happening in the news on December 25th 2011. Hopefully you have had a Merry Christmas.
