Election season is
coming for the United States before too long. Mitt Romney and Barack
Obama are the two candidates who are most likely to be the man who
comes out on top as our commander in chief come November 2012. Will
it be one more round, we will give change another chance, for Obama
or will we want real change, as the fact we change our president, in
Mitt Romney? Only time will tell and time will also tell if the
American people will be the true losers of this coming Presidential
Election.
Before the 2008
election, the United States, along with rest of the world had fallen
into a dismal recession. Where there appeared to be absolutely no end
in sight, no matter what the cost was. Many would have argued that
the next President was put in the ultimate no win situation. Where no
matter what they might have done, their chances would have been
completely sunk one hundred and ten percent.
We stand here in
the year 2012, and not too much has changed. Any change may be a mere
illusion, a hope, which we will desperately cling right onto, in the
terms to maintain our sanity.
Is there any easy
fix for the plight that the United States has found itself in? In a
word, no but we will have to make do with what we can. If we start
righting the ship today, we can really make a difference in five
years. But does that fit into the agenda of the politicians of this
country? That is something that will be left up to the interpretation
of any person.
There are five
things that really do need to be addressed before we go forward as a
company.
1) The job market.
Not this half hearted illusion that new jobs are being created but a
plan to actually assist small businesses in growing and flourishing.
Sadly, the eye has been on the large corporations, who have blown
every dime they have had through faulty business decisions. There is
no magic wand to wave to make more jobs, but perhaps helping
encourage a future and fresh business vision might open the door to
true hope and change.
2) The education
system. The children of today are the future of tomorrow and given
the dismal rate the education system is going, it is going to be a
grim future. Schools are shackled by mandates made by people who
obviously have lost the point. If educational is a rigid and lifeless
process, the students become rigid and lifeless, as do the teachers,
and only a select few will actually intend to make something about
themselves.
3) Fuel. Gas
prices are a rather big issue and obviously its going to take a
really long time before we nudge people into trying to go another way
for an alternate source of fuel. You can lead a horse to water but
you cannot make them drink. Yet something has to be done. It is
getting expensive for even those doing the bare minimum of driving.
While gas prices have slightly lowered, given what they could jump
again to, that is barely a cause for celebration. Then again, this is
one that many presidents have been solving for many years. Our
dependency on foreign oil is a downfall.
4) The Welfare
System. The entire welfare system is absolute trash right now, given
there are some people who abuse it to no end. Thus it leaves those
who do need welfare to be out in the cold when something happens. It
has been in desperate need of reform for years. Then again, people
will scream that limiting what can be done with welfare is a
violation of human rights, because that is the crutch they have been
on.
5) Helping Those
Overseas versus Helping Those at Home. Here is a potentially
controversial point, but the United States of America as a country
really just needs to let the world just deal with its own issues.
There are several hot points in Iran, Syria, and other countries
where we feel the need to job in and play the big watch dog. Yet the
big dog we were a decade ago is a few steps slower and potentially
going blind in one eye. The big dog has neglected its own health for
so long backing up others, it has become a hindrance and we have made
our share of enemies. It is time to worry about us more and stop
trying to save the world.
Regardless of the
issue the winner of the 2012 election may not feel like much of one
after they have some issues to deal with. Whether the 2012 United
States Presidential Election winner is Romney or Obama, they have
quite the battle.
