The clock is
winding down, time will be running down, in fact, the actual day is mostly
over, but better late than never, as there are 11 more days until Christmas,
and 10 more shopping days until Christmas, which is indeed counting down. It is
December 14th 2011, 12/14/11, which we answer the age old riddle of
why exactly is it raining and 50 degrees in the middle of December in the
Midwest United States?
Yes, indeed, is raining, which is
rather strange. For those who don’t live in the Midwest United States, let me
paint you a picture of the weather hear. We happen to be right in the middle of
everything, which means we get some of the absolute worst weather, the coldest
of winters sometime and the absolutely scorching hot of summers.
Perhaps it is a blessing in disguise
that it is 50 degrees today, as all of the rain coming down right now in the
Midwest United States would be snow and ice, if it drops below freezing. And
even then, it doesn’t magically just freeze when it gets to 32 degrees Fahrenheit
(better clarify that for the rest of the world, that would be 0 Degrees Celsius,
if I remember 6th grade biology right and I sure hope so. There’s
going to be some child using my blog as a reference for some biology homework
or whatever and they’re so going to fail.), but there are just a lot of things
about the weather that make sense.
Perhaps it is global warming.
Perhaps there is intelligent life elsewhere just screwing with Earth’s
atmosphere and laughing at us behind our back. Perhaps the world might be about
ready to end. Who really knows? The rain today and likely soon to be snow
really does prove that Christmas shopping is something that really should be
done.
It’s safe to say that you are not
secure with the fact that you are going to have same day shipping and the
FedEx, the UPS, and just the regular postal service are going to be swamped, so
hopefully you can get your mail order stuff here with plenty of time to wrap.
And when the USPS really bottoms out next year as half of the offices in the
country are to close, we’re really going to be in a pickle and you people in procrastinate
until December 14th(or later), might find themselves in trouble.
Hopefully not, and if you go to
the actual physical store, hopefully the weather is not too bad. And let’s face
it, it can be worse. Will it get worse with only 10 more shopping days until
Christmas? Only time will tell.
